Must be 18 years of age or older. Must maintain a valid driver's license, car insurance, and access to a vehicle.</p><p> </p><p>It is the policy of Allegheny County that in order to receive a final offer of employment, candidates must successfully pass a background check, which includes verification of Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status, and drug/medical examinations as required for the position. The pre-employment drug screen must be completed within 48 hours of the acceptance of the conditional offer of employment.</p></span> </div> <br> <span id="bold4" class=" font-weight-bold">Position Summary: </span> <span id="MainContent_PositionSummary"><br><br><p>Reporting directly to the Administrator of Re-entry Services, the Re-entry Pod Coordinator is responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating services for incarcerated individuals who are involved in programming. The incumbent will assist the Allegheny County Jail (ACJ) in organizing, transforming, and maintaining a program pod that will serve as a structured living environment. The Re-entry Pod Coordinator will work from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The incumbent may be required to work evening hours as needed. </p></span> <br> <br> <span id="MainContent_bold12" class="font-weight-bold">Overview: </span> <span id="MainContent_Overview"><br><br></span> <br> <span id="bold5" class="font-weight-bold">Duties: </span> <span id="MainContent_Duties"><br><br><ul><li>Conducts assessments and ensures every Intensive Re-entry participant has an Ohio Risk Assessment System (ORAS) and a Phase I service plan that addresses the needs indicated in the assessment.</li><li>Enters service plans and referrals into a database and regularly reviews the service plans with participants to ensure compliance.</li><li>Develops presentations and presents information on programming to the incarcerated population, enrolling interested new clients into the re-entry program and classes.</li><li>Screens participant requests to identify those who meet the policy guidelines for living in a structured living housing unit and discusses the opportunity with identified individuals.</li><li>Collaborates with the Residential Placement Manager to refer participants to alternative housing.</li><li>Collaborates with specialty programs to bring in services that connect participants with community providers.</li><li>Prepares the appropriate paperwork for parole petitions and provides it to the pod caseworker.</li><li>Liaises with and acts as the primary contact for Animal Friends, identifying and vetting suitable participants for the TAILS program.</li><li>Arranges the arrival and removal of adoptive dogs to/from the facility and ensures an adequate inventory of animal care supplies.</li><li>Confirms that training sessions for the handlers and dogs are coordinated with Animals Friends and are conducted on a weekly basis.</li><li>Ensures the dog’s safety and care during any emergency activation and coordinates any required actions with the Deputy Warden or designee during a declared emergency.</li><li>Cofacilitates pod meetings along with the Unit Manager and Re-entry Services Coordinators to implement, review, and execute the program principles and pod goals required of a structured living environment.</li><li>Organizes and provides information required for reports to the Jail administration, the Courts, the Jail Collaborative, the Administrator of Re-entry Services, and the appropriate Unit Manager on the short- and long-term measures of success; makes recommendations for changes in strategy or policy.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold6" class="font-weight-bold">Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities </span> <span id="MainContent_KSA"><br><br></span> <span id="bold7" class="font-weight-bold">Knowledge of: </span> <span id="MainContent_Knowledgeof"><br><br><ul><li>Jail Programs.</li><li>PA Title 37 regulations.</li><li>Correctional security policies.</li><li>Case Planning/Management.</li><li>ORAS Assessments.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold9" class="font-weight-bold">Skill in: </span> <span id="MainContent_Skills"><br><br><ul><li>Microsoft Office.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold8" class="font-weight-bold">Ability to: </span> <span id="MainContent_Abilityto"><br><br><ul><li>Maintain confidentiality of information and professional boundaries.</li><li>Be a team player with demonstrated partnership and collaboration skills.</li><li>Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.</li><li>Work respectfully with individuals in or impacted by the criminal justice system.</li><li>Interact occasionally with animals.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships while working on a multi-disciplinary team.</li><li>Learn County-specific computer systems and databases.</li><li>Work throughout the jail in collaboration with correctional officers and other program staff.</li><li>Assist the incarcerated population in problem-solving effectively.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold10" class="font-weight-bold">Residency: </span> <span id="MainContent_Residency">Not required to live in Allegheny County</span> <br> <span id="bold11" class=" font-weight-bold">Veterans' Preference: </span> <span id="MainContent_VeteransPreference">Will be awarded to eligible candidates.</span> <br> <div id="Needtocenterandbold" class=" text-md-center font-weight-bold"> AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER - M/F/V/D </div> <br> <br> <div id="Needtocenterandbold2" class=" text-md-center font-weight-bold"> <a href="https://apps.alleghenycounty.us/HRJobApplication/firstpage.aspx?id=2976" id="MainContent_Applyonline">Apply Online</a> </div> </div> <br> <br> <br> </div>
