This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications. Job Summary The Director, Application Development & Maintenance Pharmacy & Specialty Solutions will lead technology strategy, delivery, and operational excellence for pharmacy solutions and specialty distribution platforms supporting nationwide pharmacy, distribution, and patientsupport operations. This person will drive modernization, reliability, and scalability across missioncritical pharmacy applications, workflow platforms, and integration ecosystems. Responsibilities Oversee end to end technology delivery for pharmacy solutions, including systems supporting medication fulfillment, central fill operations, specialty distribution, and pharmacy workflow tools. Direct teams accountable for operational support, platform enhancements, and stability improvements across products such as Cloverleaf, MOMs, DCOA, IDS BOSS and other clinical and pharmacy applications. Lead the technology roadmap and execution for specialty distribution systems, including compliance, DSCSA, system integrations, application rationalization, and ongoing platform modernization. Manage build/run teams responsible for distribution center and pharmacy operations technology, including legacy system decommissioning and migration to modern platforms. Ensure 24/7 Tier I support coverage for call center and technical operations, driving service excellence and timely incident resolution. Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to define strategic priorities, align technology investments, and deliver high value solutions that improve patient safety, productivity, and operational performance. Provide strong people leadership across engineering, product, and support teamsbuilding talent, strengthening capabilities, and ensuring high performance culture. Establish and maintain governance, performance metrics, and continuous improvement processes across all supported platforms and services. Qualifications 12+ years of experience, preferred Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred Proven experience leading technology teams in healthcare, pharmacy operations, or large scale distribution/logistics environments Strong background in application lifecycle management, system integration, and complex platform support Experience with regulated environments, including DSCSA or other pharmaceutical compliance requirements Demonstrated success in transforming legacy technology environments and leading cross functional modernization initiatives
