The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $25.75. <a name="_Hlk213173700">This position is entitled to $ 2.5 shift premium per hour.</a>This position may also be eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and team performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 4% of annual base earnings.Join Our Team as a Finishing Operator!Are you passionate about finishing? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual for our metal-enclosed switchgear finishing function. As a Finishing Operator, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Chipping of parts prior to loading </li><li>Hand cleaning and surface preparation of parts prior to loading</li><li>Load parts with proper tagging</li><li>Unload different parts to crats/skids related to the same job</li><li>Record all data on the appropriate sheet/tablet</li><li>Apply Aquaban (Anti-Condensation Coating) to parts that require it</li><li>Select the route for parts to follow</li><li>Select the paint colour for the parts to be painted</li><li>Maintain your workstation in a clean, well-ordered fashion at all times - floor swept</li><li>Ensure that garbage is emptied and the floor is free of debris prior to the end of the shift.</li></ul>What you’ll Need To Succeed:<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>1 year of experience in manufacturing </li><li>Good knowledge of Cranes, Walkies and pneumatic grinders </li><li>Ability to lift up to 40 lbs</li><li>Ability to read blueprints and schematics and follow written or verbal instructions</li><li>Attention to detail and quality</li><li>Excellent organization and problem-solving skills</li><li>Team player and good communication skills</li><li>Prior powder painting experience will be considered as an asset.</li></ul>Physical demands: <ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.</li><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs to 20 lbs.</li><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1km).</li><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.</li><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.</li><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.</li><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.</li><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.</li><li style="background-color:white;color:black;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list 36.0pt;">Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.</li></ul>Vacancy Disclosure:This posting is to fill an existing vacancy within S&C Electric Canada.Artificial Intelligence Disclosure:Please note that S&C Electric Canada may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist in the screening, assessment, or selection of applicants for this position. Why Work for S&C Electric Canada LtdWith over 70 years of innovation in Canada and a century globally, S&C Electric is a trusted leader in power reliability.
