Community Outreach Coordinator, PER DIEM (Hybrid)
This hybrid position combines remote work with in-office responsibilities. Candidates must reside within the state and be located within a reasonable commuting distance to support on-site collaboration, meetings, and program-related needs as required. Please note that this is a fixed-term appointment with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2026. This role is intended to support time-bound initiatives and key deliverables, offering an opportunity to contribute to impactful work within a defined project period. Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity or experience working with organizations across the Tri-Counties region, including Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties. Knowledge of the local landscape, community partners, and available resources is highly valued and considered an asset for success in this role. Candidates with experience as public health professionals in cancer-related health education, health promotion, community outreach, and community engagement are strongly preferred. Primary Duties and Responsibilities - Developing and managing relationships with key community organizations, stakeholders, including supporting the Community Outreach and Engagement efforts.
- Coordinating cancer education programs at the neighborhood-level (e.g. Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo areas identified as priorities by COE leadership, CS Cancer leadership and/or CRCHE leadership)
- Plans, coordinates and performs various outreach activities including, but not limited to, site visits to various communities to interface with community residents for building awareness of organization's services.
- Serve as a representative of the organization and/or the program to patients, families and community organizations by attending community meetings, making presentations on behalf of program and/or organization and through other community events.
- Develop and distribute monthly calendars, newsletters and/or other outreach publications/materials. Interface with community and/or education leaders in the distribution of program/organization materials.
- Participate in the generation of reports, including program data, dashboards, outreach activities, and community contracts.
- In conjunction with leadership and program staff; interfaces with community agencies for developing and collaborating in new or existing partnerships.
- If conducting outreach activities for mobile clinics: Conducts patient registration at site, enter relevant patient records into electronic health records, submit accurate patient demographic information to appropriate internal registration/admission staff and schedule appointments and follow-ups.
- In collaboration with staff, participate in development and implementation of patient/family health education

- 2 years Experience participating in community outreach activities.
- Has familiarity and has worked with organizations in the Tri-Counties area (Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo)
